Kia Piki te Ora National Māori Suicide Prevention Programme

The Kia Piki te Ora sites promote the health and wellbeing of Māori and contribute to the reduction of suicides and suicidal behaviour affecting Māori.

The programme aims to improve the co-ordination of existing services, identify areas where additional service development is needed, and facilitate local action to address these issues. It includes:

  • community action to improve the co-ordination and delivery of services that influence the positive mental health of Māori
  • training and information resource development to improve community and workforce knowledge and skills.
